GUES actively encourages a global vision by providing unique and valuable experience for students and researchers
from all over the world to interact across national, cultural and linguistic borders.
As one of the country’s novelty universities to focus on international cooperation and exchange, GUES has made every
effort to encourage exchange programs and visits at all levels as a key initiative for its going global strategy.
We have entered into partnerships with more than 20 universities, institutions and international organizations in 8 countries
and regions. In order to better fulfill the mission of promoting cultural exchanges between China and the rest of the world, we
are trying hard to communicate and exchange with the new friend from the world.
International exchange programs have been established in the target countries and corresponding regio-ns with mutually
recognized credit systems for GUES students in key discipline programs, non-universal forei-gn language programs, and
interdisciplinary programs. Meanwhile, an array of students are awarded financi-al aid every year from the Guizhou
government Scholarship Council and other funding sources to carry out study and research abroad, further expanding their
academic scope and international exposure.
We have also taken measures to encourage its teaching staff to visit well-established universities in China and other
countries to share achievements and experiences in higher education. In recent years, a number of GUES faculty members
have received financial aid from sources including the China Scholarship Council and the Fulbright Scholar Program, with
which they were able to participate as visiting scholars in academic exchange events hosted by some of the world’s top
The University’s international presence has been further enhanced by visits of heads of state, officials in China, senior
representatives of international organizations, and globally renowned scholars and celebrities.
Each year, GUES hosts some international or bilateral academic conferences where experts and scholars from around the
world exchange views on major emerging issues of their professional fields, pushing forward the University’s international
exchange and cooperation in high-level academic research areas.
